      fter graduating from Harvard Law School in L-r: Don Passman, Gene 1970, Don Passman entered the workforce as Salomon and Ethan Schiffres a lawyer at a tax firm, which offered him the
opportunity to build an entertainment division.
Instead, Passman was inundated with a steady
stream of securities, mergers and acquisitions
work, so he headed to entertainment firm Gang,
Tyre in Los Angeles, where he’d previously done
a summer internship, leading to a standing job
offer. He’s been working at GT ever since.
Under mentor Payson Wolff, who’d clerked for Supreme Court Chief Justice Earl Warren before going on to represent Bob Hope, Capitol Records and Warner Bros. Records, Passman learned the ins and outs of entertainment law from one of the best to ever draft a contract. Passman made his bones at Gang, Tyre during the Mo Ostin era at WBR, which made extensive use of the GT music
